This little film was made for and shown on the BBC's regional news magazine 'North-West Tonight' earlier this year.
My mum was 20 years old and still an Evertonian in May 1966. Her coat was 'turned' by mine and, later, my younger brother's childhood passion for The Red Side.
So mum remembers the 1966 FA Cup Final and Everton's dramatic win very well. She watched the game on TV in the front room of our house on Flinders Street, which once stood just a few streets and around half a mile away from the location in the Bob Dylan photographs on Dublin Street.
I was 7 months and 2 weeks old and fast asleep in my pram next to her as she watched the game ... I couldn't even be bothered watching Everton as a baby :o)
My first bar job when I was 18 was in The Palatine, a great old pub, polular with 'Ship Girls' or prostitutes, which used to stand on the corner at the bottom of Dublin Street on the Dock Road.
